CoeFont launches beta Cross-Lingual TTS making it possible to convert AI voices recorded in Japanese into English, Chinese, and other languages.
CoeFont Co., Ltd., announced that its AI voice platform CoeFont is releasing a beta Cross-Lingual TTS, which will allow users to convert AI voices recorded in Japanese to other languages, including Chinese and English. The beta version of Cross-Lingual TTS will be available from the 22nd of June, 2023 (Thursday). Users will be sent an invitation after applying to the waitlist. June 27, 2023, 12:00 JST
CoeFont is revolutionizing communication again by utilizing AI technology to convert Japanese recorded voices into AI voices capable of speaking other languages. A survey conducted by Duolingo, Inc. in December 2020 found that 70% of Japanese people struggle with English, indicating a significant psychological barrier to learning and communicating in the language. In addition, learning any foreign language requires a considerable investment of money and time, creating an additional barrier to multilingualism and intercultural communication in Japan.
With Cross-Lingual TTS, users can effortlessly speak multiple languages by simply recording in their native tongue. This technology allows individuals to speak fluently in languages such as English and Chinese using their own AI-generated voice, making multilingual communication more accessible and affordable. The service will enable Japanese-speaking creators to reach a global audience without the need to hire voice actors or narrators fluent in multiple languages. A waitlist has been created for those interested in signing up for the beta service. The service will be made available to registered users in the near future.

Cross-Lingual TTS
TTS stands for text-to-speech and enables text to be converted into speech using AI voices. Cross-Lingual TTS refers to digital voices that are able to read and speak in multiple languages. The CoeFont Cross-Lingual TTS will allow Japanese-speakers to create digital voices in their native language and use it to communicate in English and Chinese.
