CoeFont Introduces Voice Revive Project at the Voice and Language Exchange Meeting in Japan

Offering free voice replication services to individuals with speech disabilities.

CoeFont Co., Ltd. presented at the ‘Voice and Language Exchange Meeting’ in Japan held on the 19th of November 2023 (Sunday), introducing their free Voice Revive Plan as part of their Voice for All Project. The meeting is a place where people with vocal and speaking disabilities can come together and share their thoughts and experiences. CoeFont AI Voice Platform has been offering their free ‘Voice Revive Plan’ to people who have lost their voices due to illness since September 2021, and extended the plan to people with speech disabilities in May 2023.

CoeFont has been invited to present at the Voice and Language Exchange Meeting, an event that brings together individuals with speaking and vocal disabilities to share their experiences and thoughts. The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, 2023, and was organized by Dr. Shuta Tomisato from the Department of Otolaryngology at Keio University’s Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Tomisato, a specialist in speech-related disorders, has been advising CoeFont on their work with people who have speech disorders. During the presentation, CoeFont introduced its Voice Revive Project, which aims to promote awareness and usage of voice technology among individuals with vocal problems.

Through the Voice Revive Project, CoeFont offers free voice replication services to individuals with speech disabilities, as well as those who have lost or are at risk of losing their voices.

CoeFont continues to work with patients, caregivers, medical institutions, and non-profit organizations to utilize technology to support the lives of people with voice-related issues.

Who Can Apply for The Service?

• Individuals who will undergo a laryngectomy.
• Individuals with ALS who are developing symptoms related to speech.
• Individuals with speech disorders, including the following:
  - Fluency disorders (Childhood-Onset Fluency Disorder / Dysfluency)
  - Voice disorders (Spasmodic Dysphonia / Functional Dysphonia)
  - Articulation disorders (Dysarthria)
  - Situational Mutism
• Neurological disorders impacting speech, such as Tourette’s Syndrome

Short Profile of Dr. Shuta Tomisato

As a result of his own experience with a childhood-onset fluency disorder (stuttering), Shuta aspired to become a doctor involved in clinical and research work on dysfluency. Shuta received his medical degree from Keio University in 2011, and is currently in charge of the outpatient clinic for fluency disorders at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Keio University Hospital, Japan. As an expert in the field, he supervised on the movies “Shino Chan Can’t Say Her Own Name” (志乃ちゃんは自分の名前が言えない) and “Black School Rules” (ブラック校則) which deal with fluency disorders.
